Untitled: Chapter One [4/4]SOUTH-GRAPES CLOSE, Two-thirty a.m.: Ina steps out of the station and lifts a cigarette off an unsuspecting hobo. And while she smokes on her way back home, she reflects on the events of the night, and wonders at what'll come next.

The city bleeds sodium fire in liquid drift past her, filling the cold air with an odd, sickly-humid sort of warmth. She shivers in her damp clothes and sticks to the buildings, wondering if her clothes will ever dry.

Untitled: Chapter One [3/4]56 SOUTHSIDE PASS WAY, Minutes After Midnight: Ina had chased the figure wearing the rain-coat for a short while, but found herself on her face in the muddy alleyway in minutes after slipping off the ladder. Thankfully, she'd fallen behind, and the suspect hadn't thought of coming back to check on who'd scared him from shifting his bloody evidence.

He hadn't been a big guy. But then again, most sickos aren't. She's not so sure she could've taken him.

Returning to the unlit apartment in the wake of his escape, she'd tacked on a stolen/borrowed POLICE: Do Not Cross sticker across the open doorway and gone in to take a look around like any dec
Untitled: Chapter One [1/4]SOUTHSIDE PASS WAY, Midnight: Southside, in one of the many unlit windows dotting the buildings, part of an elaborate crime is happening tonight.

Momentarily idle up on the fire escape, P.I. Ina Jahscovic lights up in secret, careful about attracting stray attention. It's dark here, which would favour her if not for the smouldering tip of her cigarette. The only other light here comes from the blinking streetlights scattered below, and the touches of colour that waft in all the way from the central districts. And then, if you were to peek in between the buildings and over the embankment; in the distance, just about where the sky should meet

Another galaxy I'd painted for my A-level art finals, retouched so that it's now closer to what I'd originally had in mind (was working with a limited supply of paint at the time, so it didn't turn out as pretty as I'd wanted it to, although I might have overdone the brightness here, but what do you expect when you're looking dead into a galaxy so alive with stars, eh? < /exhale>)
